After crossing out the days on the calendar, the competitions finally begin. The team will be on two fronts during the weekend: the 1st round of the Euskaldun Trophy in Zumaia and a master test in Tafalla where elites also run.
The X Zumaiako Saria trophy will start the Euskaldun trophy in this 2018 season. A mostly flat course but as usual, a very nervous race to be the first race of the year. For this test the team will be represented with the entire sub23 block: Rubén Állue, Iulen Beltrán, Germán Castel, Sergio Domínguez, Adrián García, Antonio Montón, Sergio Pérez and Lorién Tosat. The elite will also run, Rodrigo Chaves.
Our manager Adrián Barceló highlighted “For the Zumaia test we have a block with an important medium level and with options to make a great race thanks to a possible arrival to the sprint. In this case, the team will work to wrap the Sergio Pérez sprinter. Sergio is in a great state of form after the Spain Cup of Track getting a victory in the last test, and we will take advantage of it ”.
The test will begin at 10 am and the route consists of 112.5 km, last year Jorge Lamiel with the colors of Latova got a meritorious seventh position. Together with the team, director Eduardo Pérez and mechanic Lorenzo Buil will travel.
And on the other hand, the elite Adrián Barceló, Albert Gómez and Javier Vidorreta will participate in the XII Trophy Club Cycle Touring Zone in Tafalla. The test consists of three laps to a circuit with a total of 101 km, in each lap the high mountain of Artajona is passed as the main hot spot. For this test Barceló commented “Due to the layout of the route, Javier Vidorreta adapts very well, last week he was shooting with the leading group in the IV Master Weekend in Tarazona so it is very likely that he will perform a great performance. As for Albert and me, mainly burn the coal and see where we are. ”
After much effort and hard workouts, the whole team is looking forward to a great season 2018.
