Great experience for cyclists and technicians of the La Tova team - Almudévar Consulting at the Tour du Piemont Pyrenéen and at the Loinaz Classics.
In the French town of Orthez, the French third round for the Aragonese team began. The first stage was marked by numerous escape attempts without any of them consolidating. As a result, the speed of the race was around 45 km / h and, finally, when there were a few kilometers remaining at the finish line, in one of the scoring levels, the squad broke into different groups. Daniel Mellado would be the first runner of the team, finishing in the 30th position.
In the afternoon, with just a few hours off, it was the turn of the team time trial. The team, despite having a great time trial as Sandman, did not finish finding the sensations and marked a record away from the leading positions.
The next day, it was the turn of the queen stage with the ascent to Col du Soulor and Aubisque. The race, little by little, was putting each cyclist in his place as it was a long ascent and with significant slopes. Again, Daniel Mellado was the best runner.
On Sunday, the cyclists faced the last stage with orders to look for a possible escape but, like the first stage, the escape did not end up consolidating and, again, the platoon ended up splitting into small groups that gradually reached the finish line.
With regard to the general classification, Mellado finished in a meritorious twenty-eighth position, Cañete 61º classified and Barceló 67º.
On the other hand, in Beasain, the team went to a test marked by the hardness of the route added to a high level participation. From the first moment the pace of the race was high and as the kilometers advanced, especially after the first two mountain passes, the platoon was reduced to a select number of runners.
Special mention for Lorién Tosat, the only team runner to finish the test.
