Week-End, back in stages in the French town of Orthez, was the first trip abroad of the 2019 season for the La Tova team - Asesud Almudévar.
The tour, consisting of 2 stages, began on Saturday with a double sector: team time trial and a mainly flat stage, leaving the queen stage for Sunday.
In the CRE, the cyclists showed great performance and rapport getting the third position at 41 ”from the winning team. A good result after several joint workouts preparing the test.
That same afternoon, during the 2nd sector, Alexis Miranda got a third place in a tight sprint and Joshua Sandman, after being present in the leaks, a 2nd place in the general classification of the mountain and flying goals.
On Sunday, the 122-kilometer queen stage began marked by the passage of several mountain passes. The objective was clear: to harden the test to be able to obtain the points of the mountain and special springs, in addition to fighting for the general classification of the return.
After the passing of the kilometers, the team's cyclists demonstrated their good form; controlling the platoon when it touched and hardening the race in the ports.
In goal, Ashley Towey finished 7th, Sandman 9th and Elliot Reed 12th, as leading runners. Regarding the general classification, Towey was the best ranked in 5th place, followed by Reed in 7th and Miranda in 15th position. In the team classification, La Tova - Asesud Almudévar finished 2nd by signing a great lap.
