Great weekend for Team La Tova - Asesud Almudévar with Toni García as the first place of the 72nd GP Vila-Real edition, 14th position and 3rd sub 23 of Daniel Mellado, the victory in Calatorao by Alexis Miranda and the debut of Enara Ériz , female team.
On Friday, the first stage of the 72 GP Vila-Real Morella began, starting in Vila-Real and ending in Morella with several mountain passes and constantly rising. From the first moment, in the presence of rain, the pace of the race broke the platoon in many fragments ending Daniel Mellado and Antonio García in 14th and 26th, respectively.
The next day, second and final stage of the return with departure in Morella and finish in Vila-Real, with predominantly favorable terrain. The squad, under the control of the leader's team, did not allow any escape and finally, the arrival was resolved to the sprint being, again, Daniel Mellado the best ranked in 17th position.
Regarding the general classification, Mellado in a meritorious 14th position and 3rd sub 23 and Antonio García, alias ‘Toni’, climbed the podium as the best place and 2nd provincial.
On the same Saturday, in the Basque Country, Enara Ériz debuted in the Spain Cup of women of Balmaseda where he suffered a fall that forced him to withdraw from the race. Fortunately, the fall has been "sheet metal and paint" and there is no need to regret further damage.
On Sunday the activity focused on the Aragonese town of Calatorao with a new scoring test for the Aragonese Master Cup. The day, marked by the strong wind so characteristic of the morning area, started with a great participation. From the first moment the objective was clear, to control the race to be able to play with the trick of the numerical superiority. Thus, in the absence of two laps, Team La Tova - Asesud Almudévar "put ditch" to break the platoon by filtering several men in the cut that would reach the finish line, highlighting two first-year runners such as Cañete or Pina. Alexis Miranda was imposed on the group sprint taking advantage of his speed tip and giving the team the 2nd victory of the season.
